Accept
verb
consent to receive or undertake (something offered).
Example: European Commission accepted the registration of ECI.

Annex
noun
an addition to a document.
Example: Organizers attached an important annex explaining the details of their inítiative.

Central Collection System
noun
Secure and stable system designed by the European Commission. It is used for the collection of signatures.
Example: The central collection system facilitates collection and verification of signatures.

Certify
verb
officially recognize as possessing certain qualifications or meeting certain standards.
Example: All signature collection systems were certified by our National Government Office as secure.

Citizen´ Committee
noun
self-constituted group of citizens responsible for managing the whole initiative from the beginning to the end of the process.
Example: Citizen´ Committee must have at least 7 members from 7 different EU member states.

Collection
noun
the action or process of collecting something for example signatures.
Example: The collection of signatures was not easy because organizers had technical problems.

Data protection
noun
legal control over access to and use of data stored in computers.
Example: Data protection is a key priority for the European Commission

Data protection officer
noun
an IT expert who is responsible for the protection of personal information.
Example: Martin is a good data protection officer. He is an expert in the field of digital privacy.

Example: MP drafted a proposal of a deforestation law, but it was rejected by European Parliament.

The European Commission is the EU's politically independent executive arm.
Example: Ursula von der Leyen is President of the European Commission

noun
The European Parliament (EP) is one of the legislative bodies of the European Union and one of its seven institutions.
Example: The European Parliament has 75 members that are directly elected every five years.

verb
make (an action or process) easy or easier.
Example: EU Survey tool facilitates the collection of feedback from citizens.

Feedback
noun
information about reactions to a product, a person's performance of a task, etc. which is used as a basis for improvement.
Example: The developers of the EU Login app, receive positive feedback from the users because the app was intuitive and very easy to use.

Financial contributions
noun
a type of monetary donation that you transfer in favour of a charity, initiative, or organization
Example: Financial contributions up to €500 need to be published on the website of the initiative.

Frivolous
adjective
not having any serious purpose or value.
Example: This Initiative was too frivolous so, the European Commission rejected its´s registration.

Legal act
noun
a voluntary bodily movement or a term for a body of law/proposed law.
Example: GDPR, General Data Protection Regulation is a very important legal act because it increases the digital privacy of all EU Citizens

MEPs- Members of the European Parliament.
Example: Conversely, the increased role of the EP allows for pressure from Green MEPS to influence new legislation.

adverb

Example: Organizers can act on behalf of all EU citizens who signed their initiative.

Petition
noun
a formal written request, typically one signed by many people, appealing to authority in respect of a particular cause.
Example: a petition against mandatory vaccination was delivered to the European Parliament yesterday.

Reject
verb
dismiss as inadequate, unacceptable, or faulty.
Example: The registration of the ECI was rejected because It was too offensive and its objectives were not formulated clearly.

Express your support by adding a signature.
Example: I have signed a petition against the high energy prices recently.

Statement of support
noun
A special online form that you need to fill in order to support the initiative.
Example: I was asked to fill in the statement of support form in order to express my support for the initiative.

Stipulate
verb
demand or specify (a requirement), typically as part of an agreement.
Example: Requirements for the registration of the ECI were stipulated by the European Commission in 2012.

Example: All EU member states ratified the Lisbon treaty, and it's essential for the functioning of the EU.
